Thursday 8th February 2007

Who isn't curious about the love lives of animals? Take your honey to the San Francisco Zoo for their 18th Annual Valentine's Day Woo at the Zoo. Here's what their website has to say about this wildly popular tour:

"Get cozy with your loved one to the warmth of a fireplace while you add some spice and education to your love life with the San Francisco Zoo’s new Valentine’s-themed adventure – Woo at the Zoo – featuring the sexual and mating behavior of animals. Though no animals will “mate on cue” during this adults-only affair, you will learn the many remarkable facets to the birds and the bees of the animal kingdom, including animal reproduction, choosing mates, raising families, population maintenance and how the San Francisco Zoo assists in the reproductive process through its successful breeding programs. Led by former Zoo penguin keeper and engaging animal-care professional, Jane Tollini, this 90-minute event, formerly known as the Sex Tour, will entertain and educate you through a multimedia presentation and up-close encounters with various creatures inside the Great Hall.

Enjoy romantic refreshments, including champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, sushi, a risotto bar and a delicious surprise! Don't miss this chance to learn about such things as the month-long "foreplay" of a rhinoceros and giraffe "necking." There is a maximum of 80 attendees, so advance purchases and reservations are required, as this event sells out every year."
