Smithsonian Magazine sponsors Museum Day

Thanks to the Smithsonian Magazine, dozens of museums across the nation will offer free admission on September 30. All you need to do is download the Museum Day card from their website and voila, culture and education at your freebie-loving fingertips. Participating Bay Area institutions include the Exploratorium and the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland, Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley, Stanford's Cantor Arts Center, the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose and the Blackhawk Museum in Danville. If you hit the road early enough, you can easily hit two or three spots, exercising your brain and your road trip skills!
