SF Silent Film Festival
Saturday 7th July 2007

This weekend, Friday, July 13 - Sunday, July 15, marks the 12th annual San Francisco Silent Film Festival. Held in the majestic Castro Theater it's the perfect reason for film fans to head to the city. According to Flavorpill SF:
The festival mood ranges from lighthearted to historically moving as well-preserved prints are screened to the musical accompaniment of a Wurlitzer organ. Of particular note is the 1921 production of Alexandre Dumas' Camille, starring screen legends Alla Nazimova and Rudolph Valentino, with decadent set design and costumes created by Valentino's wife (and Nazimova's supposed lover) Natacha Rambova.
