SF International Animation Showcase
Tuesday 10th October 2006
Thursday, October 12, kicks off SF Moma and the San Francisco Film Society's International Animation Showcase. Animation has come a long way from the early days of Disney. As the Showcase website puts it, "animation is one of the most fertile genres in cinema and television and acts as a hub for cross-pollination among artistic, commercial and industrial media." This showcase provides a look at the breadth animation encompasses from feature-length films to shorts. The first screening is a South Korean movie that caught all the buzz at Cannes. Check it out for $11 then see a demonstration by the maverick visual effects firm that helped create the flick. See the SFMOMA website for all the details!
