Horizon opens in San Francisco

We love a tasty burger here at Road Trips Galore. And while the no frills goodness of In-n-Out tops our list of favorites, we never turn down a little gourmet action. Which is why we're so glad juli b. alerted us to the opening of Horizon, a new upscale burger joint in North Beach. Choose from market-fresh burger toppings like applewood smoked bacon and pan-seared foie gras. If you've got vegetarian friends, they won't be left out. A tofu burger topped with avocado should suit them just fine. All the burgers are fully customizable: choose your meat (they offer three types of beef alone!), cheese, bun, toppings and even a side or two (you can finally settle that skinny fry vs. big fry dilemma). The menu will taste even better when you wash your meal down with a couple of specialty cocktails. Feel free to treat yourself, In-n-Out will still be there tomorrow.
