Fly Solo: The 50 best places on earth for a girl to travel alone
Monday 22nd January 2007

I'm a big fan of trips with the fam, or the best friend or the significant other, but sometimes a girl just needs her space and there's no better way to clear the mind than a little bit of solo travel. This book, by TangoDiva creator Teresa Rodriguez Williamson, has everything a woman needs to hit the road alone. It starts with a quiz to help you figure out your ideal location based on four elements: Culture, Activity, Weather and Social opportunities. You can either read up on your perfect vacay or browse the book for travel ideas. Williamson picked each of the locales with solo ladies in mind so each city is known for safety, easy transportation and an embracing attitude towards the women of the world. Each city has a Top 10 list of must-sees, a blurb about each element and miscellaneous tidbits, such as which books to read before you go. The jacket claims it will inform and inspire: "Where else will you get a hearty rallying cry together with a hotel recommendation? An impassioned plea to take on the world alongside a restaurant review? There are travel books and there are books designed to empower. Now there is both in one." The book doesn't come out until February, but you can pre-order yours from the TangoDiva website. Pick one up for all the wanderlusting ladies in your life!
