Bike and Roll
Monday 23rd April 2007

San Francisco is a biker's dream with spectacular neighborhoods and parks to ride through. It's also a nightmare with hellish hills and erratic traffic. Which is why visitors will be thrilled to know about Bike and Roll. This company has been in the bike rental business since 1993 and specializes in excellent, safe equipment and meticulously planned rides and tours. Check out these amazing trips:
Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito and Tiburon: This ride is a must do! Enjoy spectacular views as you ride over the amazing Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito—a Mediterranean style village with hillside homes, beautiful city views, chic cafés and shops. Return by ferryboat to San Francisco . If you're energetic, continue riding along the Bay to the ferry terminal in beautiful Tiburon. Our most popular ride! You bike the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito / Tiburon, and then return by ferry! The ride is only 9 miles (riding time is about 1 hour)—allow 3 to 4 hours, round-trip.
A Ride in the Parks: Stay clear of the hills and follow the coast through Presidio, Lincoln and Golden Gate Parks . Along the way you will pass by some of San Francisco's best-known attractions such as the Cliff House, Ocean Beach, M.H. deYoung Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, Academy of Sciences, Haight Ashbury, the Palace of Fine Arts and the Golden Gate Bridge. Awesome ocean and coastal views! Ride is 21 miles, riding time is about 2 hours; allow 3 to 4 hours, round- trip.
Marin Headlands: Conzelman Loop , Tennessee Beach, and the Miwak Trails.
Known as Biker Paradise … Incredible road and off-road trails for the experienced rider. Pick a ride: The Conzelman Loop : Climb to Hawk Hill and catch the best view of the city anywhere! Tennessee Beach : Isolated beach, wildlife, and beautiful wildflowers. Coastal & Miwak Trails : Scenic off-road trails through the Marin Headlands. Nature at the city's doorstep! Riding time is about 2.5 hours; allow 3-5 hours for the full trip. Muir Woods: Visit this historic forest and stand among the tallest trees in the world. Muir Woods National Park is an experience like no other! After a walk in the woods, ride to the Pelican Inn (by Muir Beach ) for food and drink …. then head back to Sausalito for the twilight ferry. A trip back in time! The ride is 25 miles, one way, with a riding time around 3 hours. Allow 4-7 hours, round-trip
Mount Tamalpais: If the names Gary Fisher, Charlie Kelly, Joe Breeze, Tom Ritchey and Mike Sinyard ring a bell, then this is a ride for you! Climb the Old Railroad Grade and witness beautiful views, redwood groves, and running waterfalls. A challenging ride, but well worth it! The ride is 38 miles, one way, with a riding time around 4 hours. The excursion is 5-8 hours, round-trip.
